Gymnastics for the masses :D

4 November, 2009

Lincs Parkour Has its very own gym!!!

We have been given free reign of the Sleaford Gymnastics club for a Parkour/Freerunning/Gymnastics day of fun.

This session will be on Friday 13th and run from either 3 – 7pm or 4 – 8pm (you will have to let us know which one you prefer here) The cost is £6 for all 4 hours so I think that’s a pretty good deal

This is a tester for a longer running session that would see us having the gym for a 2 hour session a week forever. We just need initial strong numbers to get it going really.

Equipment at the club :  A-bars, Ropes, Parallel bars, Trampoline, High bar, Sprung floor, Vaulting Horses, Tumble track, Beams, Air track , + (foam pit style mats), climbing frames and of course more crashmats than you can shake a stick at.

and the best part of the day is that you can use the equipment in whatever way you see fit, which means tricking, climbing, stretching, conditioning, general silliness etc.

Update:  if this damn blog would let me put the videos up i would show you what it looks like but for some reason it wont let me upload but hopefully soon you will be joining us there to flip trick and train at LincsParkour’s Friday the 13th Gym Session.

Friday: The Birds, The Money and THE GUNS!

9 August, 2008

Its that time again for another blog post!

As some of you may know, there are weekly Gym Sessions in Sleaford at Northgate Sports Centre now just beginning their 6 week run. At the moment it seems to be only open to special groups, and summer activity camps, which means we should be getting a new load of kids every week. This friday marked the first of these sessions, and despite the lack of basic equipment, we were able to teach the kids, a good few basics, and even get them working on runs. One of the most refreshing sights was seeing a little girl called Hope, just drilling her precisions trying to perfect them, which was really nice to see compared to a lot of kids who would just jump then carry on.

3 Members of Lincs Parkour we’re interviewed, including Myself, Johnny Parker and Stu Pembrey, and we are pleased with the outcome of the final piece. You can buy the Paper from most Local Shops, or read the Article here
