So on Thursday Lincs Parkour had it’s first OFFICIAL session dedicated to conditioning ! and what a battle it was.
Straight after the Christ Hospital workshop me, Gainey, Cobie and Jack (Ledbury) went and got ourselves stocked up with food and ate while waiting for Ryan to arrive. Once he got to City Hall we went underneath and started with a quick mobility session as it was very cold to just jump straight into conditioning. The mobility included the regular kind of stuff but with a few more side kicks and stretching movements!
Once Finished we started of with about 25-50m sprints with a partner on your back then we did 5 sets of running up the stairs with a partner on your back to get the quads burning (and trust me it did) after the stair sets we then began to lengths of lunges but with some one on your back we did two lengths of about 25-50m.
We had a bit of a rest and stretched of our quads once we had done this then it was on to the monkey leg stuff don’t know the exact name for it but I’m sure you know what I mean, However we did 10 on our right then 30 secs of horse stance then another 10 on our right and 30 secs of horse stance and we repeated it on our left, Then we finished of our quads with a nice tasty jumping circuit at the top of city hall and after 5 times round the circuit it was hard for us to feel our legs !
Now Straight after the leg circuit we had a quick stretch off and while doing so I made up an arm circuit for us around the top of city hall. we had to complete this circuit 3 times, it included handstand push ups, one armed push ups, cat press ups, tricep dips, tricep push ups and also stretched out push ups (to work the lats and shoulders) then you would have to reach from the black rail to the wall and shimmy up the walk way to about half way up! Trust me after doing this 3 times we were all KNACKERED !

wow what a day it was yesterday!
all seasons of weather in one day! which made it a perfect day for an indoor parkour session!
I have to say I looked calm most of the time today but it was a BLOODY NIGHTMARE getting these classes sorted today
We had to change venues from the regular massive hall, to the smaller school hall due to timetabling errors and everyone saying its not their problem is someone else’s (this basically meant the normal hall was free all day but they wouldn’t let us use it!)
then they wouldn’t let us use the schools equipment because they apparently hate people doing constructive things with their rarely touched equipment. I seriously think they keep it just for show!
so anyway 40 people and all the equipment we had to lug around from the other side of the venue in the freezing snow had to squeeze into this tiny space, which meant we had to set up around the kids who were doing a military style warm-up with Stu.
Then at the end of the session it took me Stu, Dom, Jack, Jen + her bro, and even STU’s DAD almost an hour to put all the stuff that everyone left for us to pack away. I almost went insane with rage when I saw that everyone had just gone instead of helping out and doing their bit.
But I know you ALL will help next week

On Saturday the 1st of march myself (Liam), Stuart, Ryan, Dale and Mike took part in a small experiment at NK sports centre, We where asked to use our skills to help the Power bocker’s to see if we could teach them to do somersaults and vaults wearing Power risers.
It was a good experience for us to have been given the opportunity to help out, Our own Mike Knowles had been interviewed, here are his thoughts on the power risers.

a quick update to point you in the direction of our article in the Lincolnshire echo.
It basically tells you what Jonny has already posted before about how Lincs Parkour came to be, and how successful the classes have become but this time its from an outsiders point of view, so there are some details about what Parkour is and why we do it…
“It’s known variously around the world as Parkour, free running, street running or PK.
And the people who do it are called Traceurs, street ninjas or urban athletes.
But whatever you call it the latest craze to sweep the country is essentially about overcoming hurdles, both mental and physical.
As an activity Parkour is difficult to categorise. It is referred to as an extreme sport but it was not invented as one. The sport was founded by David Belle in France as a way to develop the body and mind to be able to overcome obstacles. The aim of the practice was to train the body to move as quickly and efficiently as possible, from one place to another, without letting the surrounding environment get in the way.”

Hey guys, thought you may like to hear a little about training “Down Under”!
Recently I have been involved with the media quite a bit, doing a piece in the Penrith Star newspaper with a friend, which has attracted quite a few new people in the local area. I have also been contacted by another local newspaper, the Hawkesbury Gazette, to do another piece on Monday. You can find the Penrith Star article here, along with the photo-shoot: P.S ARTICLE
